Demolitions Regulation Form

Introduction

You can use this form to notify the Council that you intend to demolish a building exceeding 50 cubic metres (roughly the size of a single garage).

Once the form is complete, you will need to print out copies of this form to be sent to:

a) The occupiers of any building adjacent to the building to be demolished;
b) Statutory undertakers i.e. electricity board, public gas supplier.

The Council will issue a Counter Notice under Section 81(1) of the Building Act 1984 specifying requirements relating to the demolition within six weeks of receipt of this form. No demolition work should commence before you receive this Counter Notice.

Failure to notify the Council in accordance with the provisions of the Building Act 1984 Section 80(2) could render a person liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £2500.

You will need to include a site plan with your application, marking the demolition site boundaries in red. The plan can be uploaded while completing this form.

Please note, you are required to fill in all fields marked with a red asterisk.
